Review for the Riverman by Aaron Starmer
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
This book, The Riverman, is a great book, but a bit confusing at times. Somethings went too fast, some too slow, and some just right. Some confusing parts were the shooting. What happened to Kyle? I think that Kyle getting shot should've been tied back into the end.
On the other hand, the characters were amazing. My favorite characters are Alistair and Fiona. I love Fiona's characteristics, spying on Alistair even if it led people to believe that she is strange. I like Alistair's characteristics, trying to see the logic of everything, but after Fiona told him about Aquavania and who the Riverman was, his logic kind of ran away.
Some suggestions for this book could've been an epilogue. In that epilogue, everything, like Kyle's incident, the mystery Riverman, Fiona coming back, and Alistair dealing with everything could come back and tie in together into a nice perfect bow. Otherwise, there is a bow, but some loose strands of story twine are hanging. Nonetheless, as a reviewer, this book would be good for you if you enjoy a long book that moves at different paces.
