Pawn by Amiée Carter
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
Pawn, by Aimée Carter, is an elaborately written book with some twists and turns. It is a trilogy/series, so it ended with a semi-open ending. This book could have been a stand-alone, though I'm glad it is not.
Overall, the book was your classic 'down in the dumps girl who gets magically to the top with a price.' Kitty Doe, the main character, has the same bright, electric blue eyes that late Lila Hart had. Lila Hart, a VII, mysteriously dies and only the Harts family know. Kitty Doe has to imposter as her, and the grand master plan that Grandma Hart and Daxter Hart (Lila's uncle) is to put a stop to the rebellion Lila was secretly hatching. On the flip side, the leader of the Blackcoat Rebellion and their lieutenant, try to convince Kitty to stay as Lila and fan the rebellion.
My review for this is that there could have been more action, more depth to this story. There were a lot of fillers and storylines that were fixed and ended, though the book could have done well without. The 'amazing plot twist' of the story was a bit easy to figure out though, with more evidence, it could have been better.
This book is PG-13 because it has some language, but it depends on the parent/guardian. Other than that, I do recommend if you want slight action and easy plot.

Review for Fahrenheit 451
Fahrenheit 451 was a book I had to read for school, so I thought 'Why not review it?'. This book is about a fireman, Guy Montag, who is questioning his world that was never questioned. In this bleak, dystopian world, books are outlawed for creating thoughts that make us, humans, unhappy. The fireman burns these books.
This book is sci-fi and though I'm not usually interested in sci-fi, I had an enjoyable time reading this book. Some parts were terribly confusing, but, in those parts, Guy Montag was also having a doozy. The ending was also a minor disappointment because it ended as an open-ending, which I don't mind, and a lot of the questions went unanswered. In this book, I would want closure - an epilogue - such as, 'This person died!' or 'We saved the world.'.
Fahrenheit 451, a science fiction book about books being burned, is a good book to read if you are older (though don't let that stop you if you want to read it).

Review for the Riverman
Review for the Riverman by Aaron Starmer
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
This book, The Riverman, is a great book, but a bit confusing at times. Somethings went too fast, some too slow, and some just right. Some confusing parts were the shooting. What happened to Kyle? I think that Kyle getting shot should've been tied back into the end.
On the other hand, the characters were amazing. My favorite characters are Alistair and Fiona. I love Fiona's characteristics, spying on Alistair even if it led people to believe that she is strange. I like Alistair's characteristics, trying to see the logic of everything, but after Fiona told him about Aquavania and who the Riverman was, his logic kind of ran away.
Some suggestions for this book could've been an epilogue. In that epilogue, everything, like Kyle's incident, the mystery Riverman, Fiona coming back, and Alistair dealing with everything could come back and tie in together into a nice perfect bow. Otherwise, there is a bow, but some loose strands of story twine are hanging. Nonetheless, as a reviewer, this book would be good for you if you enjoy a long book that moves at different paces.

Review for the Ferryman
Review for the Ferryman by Claire McFall
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
This book is a good book if you are looking for a happily ever after book. I originally got this book through a new thing bookstores are doing. The bookstore wraps the book up, then write a description about it on the front so you can't judge the book. I was very into it during spring break, and the ending was so sweet and amazing. What the author could have done was have a little more action rather them keep walking on and on. There are also other parts she could have focused on more. For the characters, there could have been more descriptions on what Tristan was feeling because it was a little unclear on how he was troubled and why.
In all, this book is a good book and I recommend it to you, young teens who like a good ending to a semi-rollercoaster story.
